About us

Commonwealth & Development is an international non-governmental, non-profit-making organisation that works to promote the Commonwealth values, and give individuals and organisations the skills, confidence and avenues to create a better future for themselves and their communities. Working closely with several governmental and non-governmental organisations, Commonwealth & Development also builds partnerships with key actors at local, national and international levels, in order to further economic and social development and international cooperation.

Founder Prudence Fokou established Commonwealth & Development in Cameroon in 2004, where the organisation has since had many successes. We have achieved national and international recognition for our education and health awareness programmes, we have experience of hosting international events, participating in overseas exchanges, and we have built strong working relationships with dozens of partner institutions, both locally and abroad. Commonwealth & Development are currently in the process of registering as a UK charity and establishing a base in London.
